How to perform a Clean Install of Xvox Pro on macOS
Sometimes, your DAW won't update it's cache when installing an update, which can lead to issues when updating from one version of a plugin to another.
This is especially common with Components in certain DAWs on macOS, but can also happen with AAX plugins (see the special instructions below if you're a Pro Tools user.)
👉 If this happens, it's a simple fix to perform a clean install of the updated version.
How to perform a clean install:
- Completely close and quit your DAW
- Open Finder and go to the following folder: Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components
- Delete the following component files:
- "Xvox Pro.component"
- "Xvox Comp.component"
- "Xvox DS.component"
- "Xvox SFX.component"
- "Xvox Space.component"
- "Xvox Tone.component"
Then, after those files are deleted, re-install the newest version of Xvox Pro (1.5.0).
This will resolve the problems and force your DAW to update it's cache, ensuring that everything works as expected.
🚨 Only if you are a Pro Tools user on macOS and are experiencing issues with updating, please follow these steps:
- Completely close and quit your DAW
- Open Finder and go to the following folder: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Avid > Audio > Plug-Ins
- Delete the following component files:
- "Xvox Pro.aaxplugin"
- "Xvox Comp.aaxplugin"
- "Xvox DS.aaxplugin"
- "Xvox SFX.aaxplugin"
- "Xvox Space.aaxplugin"
- "Xvox Tone.aaxplugin"
Then, after those files are deleted, re-install the newest version of Xvox Pro (1.5.0).
This will resolve the problems and force your DAW to update it's cache, ensuring that everything works as expected.
